We’re into the Elite 8 now in the greatest sporting event this country has to offer, the NCAA Tournament, and during the event’s modern era, Penn State has never made it this far.
The Nittany Lions’ best NCAA tourney run came in 2001, when Joe Crispin and Co. got to the Sweet 16 with wins over Providence and North Carolina. Penn State did get to the Final Four in 1954, led by Jesse Arnelle, and made it to the Elite 8 in 1942, but those were the early days of the tournament, before it became THE national event it is now.
With new head coach Micah Shrewsberry taking over at PSU, many fans certainly want to know: When can he get the Lions into the NCAA Tournament?
