PSU men’s hockey pauses team activities due to COVID

The Penn State men’s hockey program has paused team activities due to COVID, forcing the cancelation of next week’s series against Arizona State. The Nittany Lions were scheduled to host ASU on Feb. 20 and 21.

Following is from Penn State’s release:

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. –  The Penn State men’s hockey team has paused all team-related activities due to positive COVID-19 results among Tier 1 personnel.

Due to the pause, the Nittany Lions’ series against Arizona State scheduled for Feb. 20-21 has been canceled. The series will not be rescheduled.

Penn State is 9-9 overall and 7-9 in the Big Ten. The Lions have not played since Jan. 29, having games against Michigan and Ohio State postponed because of COVID concerns or protocols in those programs.

For now, Penn State’s next scheduled game is Feb. 27 against Minnesota.
