Update: 10 a.m.
**Former Penn State tight end Nick Bowers signed a futures contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, the team he spent the 2020 season with as a member of the practice squad.
As this story from NFL Trade Rumors points out, “Futures deals are essentially camp invites that will give players the opportunity to compete for roster spots during offseason workouts and training camp.”
Bowers, from Kittaning High School, signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He caught 10 passes for 214 yards and three TDs as a senior at Penn State.
This is from CBSSports in December:
The Raiders activated Bowers from the practice squad COVID-19 list Thursday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports. Bowers had resided on the list since Dec. 3, so the fact that he’s been cleared from the virus is a positive sign. Bowers will continue to develop on the practice squad, as he’s yet to make a regular-season appearance during his NFL career.
