Penn State lands DE transfer from Temple

Penn State has landed Temple defensive end Arnold Ebiketie from the transfer portal this afternoon, according to his Twitter account. He is the fourth player to transfer to Penn State in 11 days.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder from Maryland was a 3-star prospect coming out of high school. He spent four seasons at Temple and will be a redshirt senior next year.

He had 42 tackles (28 solo) in six games this season, with 4.0 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

2020 (Redshirt Junior): Second Team All-AAC … AAC Defensive Player of the Week (USF) … Defensive Player of the game (Tulane, UCF) … led the team in TFL, sacks, and forced fumbles on the season … made his first career start in season opener at Navy while having a career day recording a TFL, a forced fumble, and setting a new career-high in tackles (10) … set a new single-game high in TFL (3.5) and put Temple up 32-31 with less than ten minutes left in its only win on the season with an 11-yard scoop and score vs. USF … led the team in tackles (7) while recording a sack and two TFL at Tulane … led the team with 9 tackles and recorded another sack and TFL at UCF, which was the third consecutive game where he had recorded at least one sack and one TFL … ended the season tied for first in the conference in forced fumbles per game (0.5).

2019 (Redshirt Sophomore): Saw action rotating in at defensive end … matched his career-highs in total and solo tackles (2) vs. #21 Maryland … recorded his first career quarterback hit at ECU … matched his single-game career-high in tackles (3) and recorded his first career sack and TFL vs. UCF … notched a sack and a TFL at USF, making that consecutive games where he recorded a sack and a TFL … Athletic Director’s Honor Roll … American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team … lettered.

2018 (Redshirt Freshman): Saw first game action vs. Villanova … recorded first career tackle vs. Buffalo.

2017 (Freshman): Was part of the 2017 recruiting class … did not see game action Scout Team Defensive Player of the Week (UMass, Houston) … American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team … redshirted.

Personal: Born Arnold Kevin Ebiketie (pronounced ebb-uh-KAY-tee) in Yaounde, Cameroon (joins William Kwenkeu, an Owls’ LB, as Cameroon natives) … parents are Jean Marie Ebiketie and Guy Susanne … has two sisters, Nancy (24) and Nelly (16), and a brother Yvan (20) … sport & recreation management major.
