All-American linebacker Micah Parsons opted out of the Penn State season last month to prepare for the NFL draft, so the expectation was that he would not be playing for the Nittany Lions this fall.
However, James Franklin left the door slightly open on Thursday about a possible return by Parsons.
“Yeah, you always keep the door open,” Franklin said on a Zoom call. “But there’s obviously a big difference between somebody that opted out a week ago compared to somebody that opted out multiple weeks ago.
“We’ll see how it all plays out,” Franklin added. “But it makes it more complicated the longer they’ve been gone. But I also know that Micah, as well as others, probably wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for the circumstances.”
Franklin concluded by adding, “I’m going to try to see if there’s a way we can work it out.”
Parsons tweeted this later Thursday, so itโs possible heโs at least considering a return.
At this age I never seen so many hard decisions Iโve been faced with!
