The Penn State men’s basketball team’s last tune up before Big Ten play begins Tuesday night against Campbell.
The Fighting Camels are from Buies Creek, North Carolina and will come into State College with a 3-4 record.
They are led by first-year head coach John Andrzejek. He spent the last two seasons with Florida and helped the Gators win a national championship in 2025.
The Fighting Camels have played a tough schedule so far this season. They have losses to Wisconsin (64-96) who was ranked No. 24 in the country at the time, West Virginia (65-73), Weber State (85-91) and Wake Forest (51-99). Their three wins were against Western Michigan (91-82), Mid-Atlantic Christian (108-55) and UT Arlington (71-67).
Four Fighting Camels are averaging double-digit points so far this young season. D.J. Smith leads the way with 19.6 ppg. Dovydas Butka is averaging 14.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. Chris Fields follows with 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and Jeremiah Williamson-Johnson is averaging 11.1 ppg.
Penn State comes into Tuesday night with a 7-1 record. Three players in the Blue & White are averaging double-digit points, led by freshman Kayden Mingo at 14.3 ppg., followed by fellow freshman Melih Tunca at 13.9 ppg., and then redshirt junior Freddie Dilione V. has been electric off the bench scoring 12.8 ppg.
Penn State and Campbell meet for just the second time in program history. The last time these two teams played was Nov. 10, 2017 when the Nittany Lions defeated the Fighting Camels (86-75) inside the Bryce Jordan Center.
The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network with a tip-off at 6:00 P.M.
