Penn State Wrestling: Carter Starocci Reaches Another Milestone

Graphic by Penn State Wrestling: Carter Starocci

Philly– Carter Starocci is used to milestones this one and could pick up the biggest of his career Saturday night in Philly.

But for Starocci to have a chance to become the first ever to win five national titles Saturday night, he must take care of business Thursday and Friday.

He’s off to a hot start, tech-falling Lehigh’s Caden Rogers 18-2 in his first bout of this year’s NCAA Championships. That win was Starocci’s 100th at Penn State, making him the 39th member of the “100-club” at Penn State.

Starocci needs four more wins to complete the “drive for five.” If he gets them, he’ll complete his college career with 104 wins, which will put him in 32nd place all time.

Starocci’s overall record at Penn State is 100-4, with two of those losses being medical defaults at last year’s Big Ten Championships.

Yeah, he’s pretty good at wrestling.ย ย
