Penn State is hosting a talented offensive lineman who is in the transfer portal.

Per 247Sports, Utah State offensive lineman Teague Anderson is going to PSU for an official visit Thursday.

Anderson, a 6-foot-5, 305-pounder who is a three-star transfer per 247Sports, has already visited Houston, which he did Monday, Missouri the next day and is set to wrap up a Kansas State visit. This weekend, heโ€™s scheduled to take a visit to NC State, which he plans to do Saturday.

Anderson is a local guy, coming from Lehi, Utah. Coming out of high school, he was a top-100 interior offensive line prospect and chose Utah State over Power Four schools such as Baylor and Indiana.

ANDERSON AT UTAH STATE

Anderson redshirted his first season in 2022. As a redshirt freshman the next season, he played in 12 of Utah Stateโ€™s 13 games, starting seven. Per Utah Stateโ€™s website, Anderson excelled in an interesting statistic that the program keeps track of.

โ€œPlayed in 660 snaps during the season and posted 22.0 knockdownsโ€ฆ Played a career-high 86 snaps against Colorado State (10/7) and had a career-high 4.0 knockdownsโ€ฆ Played 84 snaps at New Mexico (11/24) and had 2.0 knockdownsโ€ฆ Also had 3.0 knockdowns against both Idaho State (9/9) and Nevada (11/11).โ€

This season, Anderson played in 11 of 12 regular-season games, picking up 788 snaps. He was Utah Stateโ€™s regular starter at right tackle, a position of strength for Penn State.

WOULD HE FIT AT PSU?

Penn State will miss Anthony Donkoh

So how would Anderson fit in at Penn State

Well, the team is looking pretty solid at tackle.

On the right side, Anthony Donkoh will be set to enter his third season and Nolan Rucciโ€” who played well in place of the injured Donkoh in this past Saturdayโ€™s Big Ten title game against Oregonโ€” has another year of eligibility. Starting left tackle Drew Shelton also has one more year of eligibility.

On the interior , RG Sal Wormley will be out of eligibility, as will center Nick Dawkins. Left guard Vega Ioane has two years of eligibility left. Ioane, however, could conceivably declare for the draft.

So if Anderson picks Penn State out of the transfer portal, heโ€™d likely either have tickets positions or get used to being a reserve.

Anderson has two years of eligibility left.
